Partnership with parents/carers

We strongly believe that parents/carers are the experts on their children’s development and education. At Pooh Corner we have an ‘Open Door Policy’, which reinforces that parents and carers are invited to actively participate in the setting's life by accessing all our other policies and contributing to our planning and life in the setting. Whenever parents/carers desire, they are welcome to carry out an activity with a group of children, read a book or share skills.

Our parents receive a weekly newsletter with information about our planning, learning intentions, songs and other interesting subjects such as healthy eating, early years research and things to do and play. Parents/carers are encouraged to share with us their own observations and pictures of their children playing or doing other activities outside the nursery. The home contributions we receive are used to support our planning and are shared with our children and then collated in their learning journals.
