Key person

The Key Person approach is the way in which we ensure that each child builds a strong relationship with an adult in the nursery and pre-school. This special practitioner supports the child's emotional wellbeing by providing for each key child's specific needs.

In addition to building a relationship with the child the Key Person is the best person to share information with the parents and carers about the child’s experiences and development.

The partnership with your child’s Key Person takes place in the initial settling in session when the Key Person discusses all aspects of your child’s development with you. This special relationship is nurtured as your child’s Key Person works with your child.
