Child Development and Assessment
We continually observe, listen and assess the children in our care. This enables us to record their achievements in each of the EYFS seven areas of learning and then plan activities and provide resources that will extend each individual child's learning and development.
Each child has a Learning Journal in which we record their progress in all areas of their learning. Continuous assessment helps us to identify developmental stages and to plan activities designed to address these. Parents are very welcome to access their child's records and to discuss them with Key Workers and our Educational Coordinator at any time. Also, we hold parents evenings twice a year so that you have the opportunity to discuss your child's progress and achievements in more detail.
At the end of each term we host a whole week of 'Breakfast Play and Stay Sessions' where parents are invited to stay for a period of time and share nursery experiences with their child.
