Forest School
Forest School is a thrilling and inspiring environment. It is an outdoor learning opportunity to inspire and encourage children and to promote social and emotional well-being.
It is an opportunity for your child to experience nature and the outdoor environment in a safe, secure and hands on way. The children are encouraged to investigate and explore but also to respect all living things. In our Forest School we take a group of children to Leigh Woods, one of our local woodland areas, to gain experience in an outdoor environment. Learning happens in a fun and subconscious way by exploring, being creative and playing. Children will learn about their local natural environment simply by being in it. They are encouraged to use their initiative to solve problems, co-operate with peers, to achieve small tasks, and to manage risks in an informed and safe way.
Children learn by exploring and playing whilst using a range of activities designed by the leader and instigated by the children themselves. Teamwork is an important part of Forest School, building a sense of independence and promoting high self-esteem.
